Artist's Statement
I strive to capture the way in which food nourishes the body and soul, working to complement its simple artistry and ability to bring people together. This book celebrates the most basic rituals that lie behind a meal, containing visual stories that promote the importance of food and our connection with it. In acknowledgement of our ability to cook and eat sustainably, these recipes are organized in a way that moves the viewer through the seasons and include many ingredients that came directly from farm and field. The impacts of our habits extend far beyond ourselves. The best experiences come from diving into new destinations and dishes, as well as sharing them with others - I hope I have captured those experiences in a way that brings you to the table.
